|LOCATION & TRANSPORTATION
It’s all about location! The cities of Archdale and Trinity
are located in the northwest corner of Randolph County and in
the direct center of the state of North Carolina. It’s location
along the convergence of major interstates positions it for
growth and opportunity.
Archdale-Trinity serves as the
gateway to North Carolina’s lush Piedmont Triad region, which is
centrally located just 90 miles east of the Blue Ridge Mountains
and 200 miles west of the Atlantic Ocean. The Archdale-Trinity
community boasts proximity to numerous colleges and
universities, and is within 500 miles of half of the nation’s
population and commercial markets. Its unique position on the
Eastern seaboard places it half-way between Charlotte and
Raleigh, regionally, and between New York and Miami, nationally.
Archdale-Trinity, while close to larger urban centers and
amenities, serves as an ideal spot for residents and tourists to
escape the congestion and the high cost of living of big cities.
Being a part of the Piedmont Triad region and the
Greensboro-High Point MSA, the communities have participated in
the growth of the region and are positioned for the expected
growth in the next decade.
With construction of
Interstate 74 (also designated as the U. S. 311 Bypass) through
Archdale-Trinity, the community is well on its way to
significant future development. This federally mandated
transportation system, running from Detroit to Charleston, will
fuel many opportunities, including light industrial and cluster
developments at the intersection of I-85 and N.C. 62.
Piedmont Area Regional Transportation, or PART, offers regional
transportation services, not only in the Triad, but supplements
tourism transportation to the western part of North Carolina,
making a visit to the mountains easily accessible. A Park and
Ride lot is conveniently located for residents choosing to take
advantage of this gas-saving opportunity.
A cluster of
airports and companies that need that access has led regional
leaders to develop the aerotropolis concept to drive
development. In nearby Greensboro, located at the Piedmont Triad
International Airport, Federal Express and HondaJet opened
facilities in 2011 and have recently announced major expansions.
Paired with the incredible access to major interstates, the
region is focusing on development that can take advantage of
these resources. Locally, Darr Airport is located right in
Trinity, and the Asheboro Municipal Airport, Charlotte Douglas
International Airport as well as PTIA are situated close by.
Archdale-Trinity is also convenient to rail and ocean
transportation services. The Norfolk-Southern Intermodal
Facility is located in nearby Greensboro, and Amtrak passenger
train-service is available at either the High Point or
Greensboro stations. The state ports of Morehead City and
Wilmington, centrally situated along the eastern seaboard, are
only a few hours from the area.
By highway, air, rail or
sea-Archdale-Trinity, the Gateway to the Piedmont-offers easy
access to the world.
